What we find for most of our clients, is that once signing up for a managed service plan the push to stay aware and on top of their security comes like a rollercoaster. The desire to be protected progressively goes up, but eventually it comes down. The reason for this pattern is because, as a business owner, WHO CARES ABOUT I.T!?

As much as it can be the least concerning priority for most business owners, a small cyber security breach could be the very thing that can close your doors. Quite frankly, that is why us at Biztek Solutions, Inc. are in business because we want to relieve the responsibilities of managing your network to us leaving you, the business owner, primarily focused on growing your company.

Presented is a checklist for your business, to ensure you become aware on a more consistent basis the health of your network. These aren’t as critical for business owners who are partnered with an MSP, but to the owners that don’t, we implore you to either be MASTERS at these, or take the easy way…. by partnering with professionals like us.

Here’s the checklist:

CHECKLIST ITEM #1

Train Employees. Your team needs to know how to identify and handle today’s IT security threats. Cybercriminals often rely on your employees’ lack of training to break into your network. Ongoing training gives

employees tools and resources to overcome this and many other IT security challenges. Make training a top priority!

CHECKLIST ITEM #2

Hold Employees (And Yourself) Accountable.

Training and company guidelines don’t mean much without

accountability. When you set rules, follow them, just as you follow industry and government rules and regulations when operating your business. Be willing to hold anyone who does not accountable.

CHECKLIST ITEM #3

Have A Disaster Recovery Plan. Things happen. When you store sensitive data, you need to have a plan in place to recover and restore that data should anything happen. This doesn’t just include data loss from malicious attacks but other types of disasters, including hardware failure, fire and flood. How is your data being backed up and saved? Who do you notify in the event of a breach? Who do your employees call in the event of disaster?

If you meet this criteria, at least 2 out of 3, great job! However, just these 3 things will not completely protect you from the most advanced breaches. If you are partnered with an MSP, as a business owner, it is important you meet regularly with your vCIO to review your security policies to make sure its up to date as you expect your company to grow. If you are not partnered with an MSP, do consider scheduling a DISCOVERY CALL with us by clicking on this link or clicking the image on the top left.

Let us show you why partnering with an MSP will elevate your network!
